The inaugural black-tie event's focus is on influential Washington, DC mothers raising funds for orphans through the United for Kids Foundation (UKF) – a nonprofit committed to fighting poverty and illiteracy through education and social welfare programs in Nigeria. RMFAC is recognized by the Embassy of Nigeria as a prelude to the Nigerian Independence Day celebrations.L~Shandi Presented "Runway Moms for a Cause" hosted by Maureen Umeh of Fox DC!

Participating mothers adorned in one of a kind designs by L-Shandi and guests partook in a silent auction featuring original artwork, sent from Nigeria, by the benefitting orphans depicting their life goals and dreams.

This First Annual event held Friday, September 30, 2011 was presented in the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Baltimore Country Club – BCC a 112 year old, private club, holds its annual BCC Fashion Show during the holiday season at its premier clubhouse in Roland Park. This year the production staff at BCC decided that the annual fashion show deserved a fresh new look. So given this mandate by one of our oldest clients, JSI took the challenge.

A projection screen provides a unique look to BCC Fashion Show

This fashion show required JSI to provide custom panels or scene flats bearing the BCC logo. The high style replicated logo requested by BCC gave that final touch to the WOW factor that the country club wanted. The addition of a back lit translucent rear wall was added for dramatic effect. These photos are an example of how JSI can provide customized production services to your high fashion event.

Held April 25th of this year at Coppin State University’s 4100 seat basket ball arena located in the newely built Physical Education Center which opened just 2 months prior on February 27th, the event puts a crown on CSU, the city of Baltimore and the relationship they had with a pillar of the civil rights movement both here in the USA and all over the world.

The spacious basketball arena is home to the Coppin State Eagles and Jericho was required to provide special protection for the new springboard floor. No stranger to working with Coppin State, JSI installed a custom public speaking platform in the new arena for the event. Many honored attendees used the stage to celebrate a lifetime of achievements by the Late Dr. Height who had a long standing relationship with CSU. The Honorable Dr. Maya Angelou, Poet & Author was among them. The seminal event served to launch two major programs in Dr. Heights honor at Coppin State University, and was to be attended by Dr. Height. Prior to her passing she was insistent that the event go on.

Runway for 57th Annual Luncheon

JSI has supported the Fashion Show for the past 8 years by providing a long runway and stage covered in fabric and scenery flats to match. This year, more than any other, shows the dedication to this event as Jericho braved the sometimes treacherous road to DC

during the “Snowpocalypse” to deliver and install the products needed for a finished stage and runway. Proving that even during the biggest snow fall to hit the Baltimore-DC area in over 50 years Jericho Stage will go the extra snowy mile to get the job done. The heaviest snowfall on record was 28 inches in January 1992. The biggest snowfall for the area has been reported to be in 1772, at 3 feet, which George Washington and Thomas Jefferson penned in their diaries.
